Well, we're back from camp ad mostly recovered. It was fun catching up with friends that we only get to see once a year, and we had a visit from some of the Rohe's.
Overall, it was a nice visit and Peter was a trooper. Honestly, though, I'm not sure I'd do it again with a newborn. The heat and all the noise and hub-bub was hard on Peter and we learned about overtired babies firsthand. Also, there were tons of people there and I was a little aghast at the lack of personal space respect that people think is ok once there is a baby in the mix. People I didn't even know would come and touch him, or even try to hold him! And there were countless little kids with grubby hands that wouldn't take no for an answer or whose parents didn't keep under supervision.
Having a newborn at camp wasn't all bad, however. We did seem to more so make the jump into the "adult" world of camp and were able to deeper relationships with some of the other young parents of Camp.
Now, I'm wondering how we're going to accomplish next year with a toddler. I think we're going to have to insulate and a/c the cabin!
